How to Hide/Disable Sponsored Torrents and Ads in uTorrent

The popular tiny BitTorrent client uTorrent comes with added sponsored torrents and a small ad unit. If you don't want these ads to be shown on uTorrent you can disable them in Preferences menu.

Open Preferences window, go to Advanced section, the two options you want to change are offers.left_rail_offer_enabled - for the sidebar ad and offers.sponsor_torrent_offer_enabled - for the sponsored torrent. To quickly access them type “offers” into the Filter box.

Double click on the options to change the values to false, hit Apply and then OK. When you restart uTorrent the sponsored Torrent will no longer appear and the ad at the bottom will always show “Upgrade to uTorrent Plus” image.
