When you click on the share box in Google Plus, by default you will be sharing your posts either with public or with your Circles. To change this click on the cross right side to the Circles.

You have removed your Circles from the share box, now type the name of your contact, a drop down list will appear. Select the contact from the list and click Share button.

Message will be delivered directly to their inbox.
